There is a lot of gray area when it comes to being green.  Just because a product claims to be “all-natural”, “Eco-friendly”, “biodegradable”, “organic”, or other buzz words doesn’t mean it truly is free of toxins and healthy for you and the environment.  Be wary of products that do not disclose all of their ingredients…they are often hiding something.

Some products commonly thought of as Eco-friendly are really just marketing something that isn’t true.  We try to cut through all the confusion, find out what makes up a product, how the company operates, and find out the truth.  We are constantly looking at new and different products, researching them, and testing them.  Here are some examples of products we use:

Natural Products

We frequently use completely natural products like baking soda for cleaning some bathroom and other surfaces, olive oil for polishing up stainless steel, and lemon juice for the scent or for cleaning the inside of microwaves and other items.

Shaklee

Shaklee offers a large number of different household cleaning products (as well as other products).  Most of these products are made from all natural, non-toxic ingredients, Biodegradable Surfactants, and they are not tested on animals.  The company also acts in a responsible way, planting trees, recycling, cutting down on waste, and operating at a net-zero impact on the environment.

Biokleen

Biokleen stresses transparency in their product ingredients and their company processes.  They make plant and mineral based products rather than commercial chemical based products.  Through living enzyme producing cultures, they have been able to pioneer some of the strongest and safest natural cleaning products. They also offset their water and energy usage, and they create concentrated cleaners to continually cut down on waste.
